Professional Coin grading Service (PCGS) is revered as one of the best and most respected grading companies. Their encapsulated coins also tend to fetch the highest premiums at auctions and private sales. PCGS will grade all U.S. and most World/Foreign coins. In addition to their regular label, they also offer a secure plus label for additional security. PCGS will also review all qualified coins for a plus designation at no extra charge
Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) is also a highly respected grading company in the industry. Some would argue they are more strict with their grading than PCGS. They are one of the most popular grading companies alongside of PCGS.
(NGC®) is the world's largest and most trusted third-party grading service for coins, tokens and medals.
Since 1987, NGC has graded more than 58 million coins, each one backed by the industry-leading NGC Guarantee.
With an unparalleled commitment to accuracy, consistency and integrity, PMG is the world’s largest third-party paper money grading service with more than 9,000,000 notes certified. Every note that PMG grades is backed by the comprehensive PMG guarantee of grade and authenticity, which gives buyers and sellers greater confidence.
The American Numismatic Association (ANA), the only numismatic organization chartered by the US Congress, and the Professional Numismatists Guild (PNG) have both named PMG their official paper money grading service.
ANACS, established in 1972 is America's oldest established grading service. Their certified coins are sometimes not revered as high as PCGS or NGC but we use them as an option because unlike NGC or PCGS, they will assign a specific number grade to problem coins (instead of just the range) for anything under MS60. If you would like to get your coin(s) graded but are pretty sure they have some type of damage, ANACS may be the way to go. In our experience they also appear to be very well versed on attributing variety coins, mint errors and obscure world coins.
